The HF is on sale for $70 in a flyer I got today.

BTW, what stands are you using? I've started using the 3-ton aluminum stands like this. I like the flat bottoms, especially on anything other than a smooth concrete garage floor. They are also light.

My race car is enjoying it is retirement sitting on these, but they are expensive and I don't think applicable to the S2000.

That HF is always on sale. Mind you that they have two 1.5 ton models. The one for $70 only raises up to about 14". It's smaller and lighter. The other raises a little over 17" and costs around $110-120 I believe.

I have 2 jacks, one for the garage and one for the track. The one in the garage is from Northern Tool and is very large and heavy (don't remember weight rating off hand), but can reach the center jack point on a stock ride height car. The caveat is that without using pieces of wood when my car had lowering springs it BARELY fit under the side jack points (you needed to push the car slightly to the side to get it to slide under) and wasn't even close to reaching the center point.

The track jack is a 1.5 ton HF aluminum jack that has a slightly lower profile but can't reach the center point. It works fine for the side jack points even lowered, and is capable of lifting both tires on one side of the car. Very handy when just swapping tires at the track.

What are most of you autocrossers/track junkies/time-attack/club racing folks using to jack the car up?

Has anyone run across a jack that can reach the front/center jack point on an S2k without driving it up on ramps first?
You should get some of these: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rn...FYc6gQoddJoA1A

Thank you Michael, but I do a pretty good job of keeping myself broke without your help! ;-)

They also have a 5000# capacity version...only $200 or so more.

I still need to drive up on blocks to my lift under the car. Overkill always works!

HF has a large scissor lift for $1500 (plus $100 shipping). The car will still need to get on blocks to lift and the center won't be accessible. For some, it is high enough to drop an engine from the bottom as many current cars require. The Rangers are $1100 and $1300 plus shipping.

HF 2.5 ton is very low and will fit under my porsche either on back or front or sides. I made poly pack with pin for it since porsche has holes. For other cars I just change pack.

For S2K i made jacks from simple square aluminum tube. Just welded plate to it and notched top so it fits exact under frame square part further in from jacking point.

I am here to help Don. Maybe we could split a set. You buy the left and I will buy the right.
