You may have thought of this already, but you could weld in some vertical suppports in the trunk that will meet up with the wing mounting brackets when the trunk is closed, so you will have a rock-solid support of the wing.

The tubes with the subframe bolts are actually 14" long, you only see the top 4". They extend down through the main frame beams to the bottom of the channel.

It's 1.5" steel tubing and the trunk lid is not going anywhere. The bonus is that the trunk opens and the springs work just like normal supporting the lid when it's open. It was an idea stolen from British touring cars.
