I'm not sure what you guys are talking about. I have burned pretty good holes in both sides and I don't see anything to cut without having holes on both sides of the hood. Don't think it has much to do with the tabs, this is all about ride height, spring rate, and body movement under high gee loads. On my car I don't lower the front more than one inch, have higher rate springs, Mugen bar, stiffen the shocks considerably for the track, and have minimized but not eliminated rubbing when running 225 Victos.

when I run 225/245 kumho's on stock rims with a 1.25" saner solid bar I rub the liner also. Usually knock out the plastic insert that holds the liner on the fender lip. I've also burned a hole throught it...

So it isn't just proper offset. BTW the car is lowered .75"
