I'm looking for a fuel surge tank as well but haven't found anything specifically for surge use. I believe the standard 1 gal fuel cells would work great (and affordable)

I am surprised that nobody has developed a simple and complete kit given the frequency of this problem and more cars being used for track. I was looking for a setup, but gave up and having a 12g fuel cell installed instead.

You would think it'd be pretty easy to enlarge the access plate on the top of the OEM tank and drop in a "swirl pot" to fix the problem.

AMS has a fancy universal one for $400 (includes pump)

Part of our decision-making revolved around our aftermarket equipment. In general, the OEM pump stays in-tank and the surge tank uses a higher-capacity pump (like the Walbro).

But what happens if you are already running a high-flow pump (Walbro 255) in tank? Do you need a higher flow than that if you tack on a surge tank? Bosch? Dual Walbro for the surge tank? I don't know. But I figure that one misstep with the surge tank would eat up the cost difference between a surge tank and a fuel cell.
