Why do you call them "not necessarily remote reservoirs"? I thought they're very
useful. Lots of companies use them like Toda coil-over and TEIN Type RS.

They're 'external' but not 'remote', in other words, they're 'local'.

Sorry but what's the difference between "remote" and "local"?

"Local" = attached to (hanging off of) shock body. "Remote" = mounted elsewhere in the car, e.g. engine bay or trunk.

The combination of the GC coil-overs, Mugen sway bar, Spoon X-Brace and an aggressive alignment give the car a world of stick... Very neutral, very grippy.

I personally think it's the magic combo for a cost effective performance street/occasional track day car.

The stock rear s2k shock is quite quite underdamped already - I would hesitate in mounting any higher spring rates in the rear without changing out your shocks.

So what exactly do coilovers do? Sorry, I'm a newbie. Do they let you lower a car without altering its handling characteristics? Does Ground Control have a website?

Edit: Oh, never mind, I found their site and an explanation of what coilovers are for and what they do within. Say I wanted to just lower a car for looks but still wanted to maintain handling. What would I do about matching shock damping with new springs?

Ok this may be a dumb ? but wouldn't you have to get your car alligned every time you adjusted the GC's or any coilover for instance. That's gotta throw the allignment specs off? Or do most people adjust their systems for everyday driving and then get the allignment?

Also say you wanted to lower your car for a show or something...do ya just keep track of how many turns you make and then adjust them back afterwards or would that still have an impact on the allignment?

These GC's sound/look very nice and have an attractive price tag. Makes me sorry I spent 280 on kgmm's when i could of had these?

I tend to agree to a point. For two days straight at last month's NASA HPDE at Summit I was definitely rocking and rolling.

Of course, then came my last session of the weekend. I found that my newly stiffened rear was enough to launch me around about 35deg. in turn 3. Ooops.

They will be going on my replacement car however.

BTW--NASA made us run top down. Prior to that weekend my best time was a 1:31:3. With the Koni/GC combo and a passenger I turned a 1:28:3 two laps before wiping out. I just didn't feel right submitting to the Honda Hall of Fame considering I didn't finish the session.
