Another question, how do you turn that thing to adjust them? IS there a tool for it?

has anyone ever gotten the spring rates for the 02'? I'd like to maintain the handling characteristics of my 02 but wouldn't mind a mild (around and inch or so) drop for the appearance. I won't lower my car to the detriment of performance however so at this point - no lowering for me.

TIA...

Loosen the clamp with a hex wrench, turn the collar by hand. Very easy with the wheel off. A little tricky with the wheel still on.

Is it possible though with the wheel on?

Yes, as pfb said, it is possible, but tricky . I have adjusted the Mugen coilovers with the wheels on.

Ground Control help:
I am hearing some bad things about Ground Control stuff and need some info from people who know:
1)the parts that hold the coilover onto the strut are rubber and plastic, which break down and detereiote over time.
2)The set screw for adjustments rusts out really fast and gets stuck.
3)they design the coilovers based on the fact that you are going to lower your car. So If you don't lower it, and the srping is a little funky and it rides like crap.

Any truth to these things i have been hearing? Anyone used ground control stuff for a long time on a car? How did they hold up.
Thanks in advance!

I only know enough to misinform but...

I understand that GC allows you to choose the spring rates thus #3 is false. If you don't know what changing the spring rates does to handling then don't change them until you do and have a desire to make that change.

The perches are aluminium and press-fit onto shock (we don't have struts). There is no rubber/plastic bit, at least not on my comptechs which look very similar.

I have no idea what the set screw is made of so I can't comment on the corrosion issue. I think climate and salt will play a role.
