I was inspecting the tires on the BRZ, and noticed that they were labeled 200TW...

Conveniently, I've been way off pace since these tires were put on the car, but that could just be an excuse. Anyone else have RS3 labeled 200TW?

This is a 225/45/17.

Nope, its the troof. Hankook revised it to a 200TW for 2013 apparently. Unsure if the compound has been tweaked accordingly as well.

The RS2s were 200 UTQG.


This is good news for 24hours of Lemons racers though - 200 is the legal threshold for that series. AZENIS RT615K & Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec were the only game in town after the RS2 dried up.

 

On hankooks website they are now 200tw, as are the ones on my car.

I know what I'm running in for tires in lemons this year.....

I honestly wouldn't be shocked to hear they upped the TW rating but otherwise changed nothing about the tire. Between Lemons and chumpcar thats a pretty large tire market they were excluded from on treadwear alone.

HAHA apparently the ones on my S2k are 140TW. This is why you dont IM someone and ask them to go look at your tires, but instead look for yourself.

Hankooks site is still 200, lets see what it says tomorrow.

 

Does the tire grip and feel the same tho?

 

I honestly have no basis for comparison. I ran on Star Specs all last year since the RS3's were nationally sold out every time I tried to order them in the past.
