Default Harbor Freight jack

Is this the same jack that used to cost $130?

No. The handle length is half the larger jack. The one benefit to this smaller jack: half inch lower height. This will get under a car lowered to about 3" of clearance.

No, it's not- I thought about getting this but the biggest problem is not the saddle height, which is lower, but the total height of the jack, which is higher. In order to lift the front crossmember of the S2k, you basically have to get the entire jack under the front bumper, not just the saddle. Especially so when you consider the arm length of this jack is shorter. I actually ordered one because I didn't need or want the rapid pump feature, liked that it was more compact and liked that the handle was shorter (better for tight spaces). But then I realized I got the width and height backwards and cancelled the order.

I dunno, that sure looks like the one sleeping in my living room 'till next week. It will not fit under the bumper, but a 2x2 under the tires and you're fine.

What will you use it for. Trackdays - it gets a whole side high enough to get both wheels off in 3 strokes, mine worked for me last year though about 12 autox without problems. As a main garage floor jack?

I don't jack my car by th side points, so the less expensive model won't work for me. This would be for autocrossing if and when I ever go to racing tires, trailer, hitch etc

Bill, I'm in the same boat as you and have not located a jack that will work as yet.... except for the $400 floor jack from Denmark or where ever. My car is stock and these are the requirements I'm looking for: The location for the central jack point is back 32" from the front of the car. The saddle pickup point is 5" from the floor. And there is only 5-3/4" clearance for the jack body. The $130 alum from HF will not work; in fact it has a big set screw that makes clearance of the jack body even worse.

I found this site very interesting. I have since emailed the site owner and suggested he include the overall jack body clearance height (ie, the S2000 issue due to the great set back of the jack point). He agreed as well and said he would take measurements and add that field as well. It does not appear he has done so as yet.

My bad - I do have the other one. If you decide on the $139.00 one, you can start hauling it to autocosses even before you get your trailer. I get all 4 tires and that jack, along with my impact wrench and a carry bag in the car (the jack sits in the passenger side footwell).
