Wow. I'm surprised somany jack it from the side jack point. That strip of body loos like it is just waiting to fold over when you jack it. Guess I'm still carrying around a lot of prejudice from my old british sports car days. I remember jacking an MG-B at that point and putting the head of the jack right through the floor.

krazik, FWIW, my comment about twist was not of my own making; it came directly from a document I read and made note of. I do not recall source but it was not from someone posting it.

As for jacking from center on the side, it apparently works but it wasn't designed with that in mind. Personally I'll stick with the designed lift points.

Will it work with center lift without driving onto something? Or, is it simply a lightweight jack that can be used from the side?

You might want to check out AC Jacks

Low profile, fairly low cost, but unfortunately not so low weight. Would probably make a good shop jack though.

Because I never jack from the side I still like my 10-year-old Sears Craftsman floor jack and two 2x10" boards.... Funny thing is, how many other jobs those two boards come in handy for once I'm at the track.

i have the orange $40 harbor freight jack. works great. just raise the s2000 on the rear diff, then put the back of the car on jackstands. then you can lift the car in the front by putting the jack in from the side and lift the car up on the transmission.

There are some dinky floor jacks of the $30 range that will clear the underside; I saw one last night at a friends house and measured it. It was old, so I don't know what the rated capacity was but it may well have been 2000#.
