Is hawk blue good?
When I tracked my S2000, I used Cobalts (Spec VR front, and whatever they had at the time on the rear, most recently Spec VX). When I couldn't get Cobalts once, I used Carbotech pads (XP10 front; XP8 rear), and liked them as well as the Cobalts, although I'm not sure they last as long as the Cobalts.
FWIW, I find on my Spec Miata (2397 pounds yesterday, with me in it, 25lbs of ballast and too much gas) that the Hawk Blues don't allow enough brake modulation--it locks up too easily. This isn't good for tires, or for braking confidence. I just switched to the same type of Carbotech pads I used on my S2000, and it makes a world of difference. I can now brake as hard or as gently as I care to, and they don't take as long to heat up enough (and yet there's no sign of fade).

With me in it the car it weighs 2760 with 20 litres of gas. Without me it weighs 2480, you do the math. I'll be on the Cobalts I have for my first race of the season this coming weekend at Mosport because I simply have no time left to find new pads before then with other problems I need to sort out but I'll switch them out before the next race after and see how it goes.
