4.44 final gear

KW v3

255/40/17 square set up with 17x9 45 rpf1

Bros ms gt wing

mods are not so crazy it's almost close to stock except the few bolt ons.

i have tried so many brake pads and rotor combo and all failed.

Didn't last for more than a 5-6 hot laps and overheat.(pads)

HP+, dtc 70, carbotech xp12 , bros ms race pads and rotors , DBA rotors ,stoptech rotors, brembo rotors oem rotors.

all the rotors seems like it over heats crazy and i see the pads easily overheat after full 5 hot lap.

i have 3" brake duct as well and it helped little but not much.

is this the max potential for the stock calipers and rotor size?

i have cracked almost 6 pairs of rotors last year and more than 6 pairs of pads.(cooked)..and now i am thinking of buying spoon caliper or stoptech 328mm bbk

Can anyone help me solution for the brake set up?

spoon caliper vs stoptech which would be cost effective + performance effective

i have 5 more pads and rotors set for the stock size so would it be better to go with spoon since they can fit the stock size ?

or forget about all stock sizing overheating and go with stoptech bbk? what kind of pads choice do i have with stoptech bbk ? other than 309 from stoptech ? 328mm bbk is 309 pads are the best pads i can use?

my goal is to shave 1-2 more sec with bbk upgrade @ cayuga track @ ontario canada which would be more effective?

please help !

Thanks

Have about similar mods as u.

I have brake ducts set up for front and rear and can lap 15-20 hot laps without fade. And can continue a few sets of the 15-20 hot laps for the whole of the 3-4hr track day. And repeat that for 3-4 track days.

Cracking is mostly a cool down issue

Check out my blog http://racings2000.blogspot.sg to see how my ducting was done, hope it helps. Just some tweaks to the setup without spending big money should make your setup work fine.

What about your rear brakes?
How are they after a track day?

Your brake system with 3 inch ducts and XP12 pads in Canada should not be overheating and fading. What are your "failure" symptoms? Are you following Carbotech's brake and rotor bedding instructions? If you don't get your new pads smokin' hot on initial bedding the pads will wear very quickly. Are you taping up your brake ducts during the bedding procedure? If not it's very difficult to get the pads up to the proper bedding temperature.

At the same track i faded the carbotech xp10 in about 4-5 laps too, but i dont have brake ducting. I feel like that track is hard on the brakes. 2 hard braking zones from 175 to approximately 90, and the rest of the track is brake hard before every corner too.

Yes. Cayuga is definitely hard on brakes. Everyone seems to crack rotors there.

A set of RacingBrake two-piece rotors will solve the cracking rotor problem but it sounds like the op needs a BBK. I went with the RacingBrake "Track Duty" two-piece rotors and Accord calipers. The total cost (rotors + calipers + ss lines) came to about $1000. The system has been very reliable and my brake pads are lasting about 80-90% longer than with the stock calipers. RacingBrake does sell a BBK complete with 12.8 inch x 1.1 rotors, calipers, ss lines and brake pads for $2000. I'm not familiar enough with the other BBKs to make a recommendation.

Thanks for the replys guys..

Im not that dumb with mechanical stuff so please no bedding instructions or caliper rebuild and ...etc..
Im not a great professional mechanic, i dont have 20-30years of experience. However i have experiences and been building hondas for years

Every track is different if i runy oe set up on some other track that can be cooled i wouldnt have this issue.

My big question is.. spoon or stoptech. And how much will it have more resistence on heat compare to stock..
