Nice time btw! s2000 I assume on R comps/wing?
Yeah, I'm trying to figure out what kit to do. You can probably limp those pads along, but I bet you'll have more fun with the proper pads. Thanks! Yup GT-250 and a splitter and 255 NT01s on KW V3s. Thats all the important stuff. I think I can cut another 2 seconds off that with a proper BBK

Same in CT...

$350 is not atypical for a track day with instruction. 10 round max unless you are grandfathered in like me.

Porterfield R4's here..
Handle HPDE great,
Kevlar/carbon makes them quiet (unless you granny brake up to a stop),
Wear pretty well even with 50/50 track miles,
Normal dust for a track pad.
$250 full set

I've run Porterfield R4 on the S2000 and also other cars. They are an improvement over more street oriented pads such as Hawk HPS and HP Plus. I have a set that I just put back on the car for a track day 2 weeks ago and I had to brake significantly earlier and softer than I had the week before running with DTC-60s. This is with stock rotors and ducting front and rear. They never faded to the point that I couldn't stop the car, but stopping distances were far longer than with the DTC-60.

Not a bad pad for the money and they're easy on rotors too. But they are not in the same league as more track oriented pads.

Yeah, they're pretty awesome for a dual duty pad..
You'll get strong track performance without most of the negatives of going hardcore.
Might want to drag the brakes if you have long waits between autocross runs.. They need a second or two to warm up.

R4s seems to be more in line with the hp+ m. Auto cross type pad that could be used for mild track. R4 above seems to be track focused

Definitely an improvement over hp+. Then again, just about anything is.

To be clear about my previous post, I was referring to the R4, not the R4S. (Edited that post to clarify).

First time I've seen the Porterfield pads mentioned on the S2000 forums. I run the R4 on my MGA race car. Mostly 10 lap sprint races. I've run the R4-1, but they glaze over.

Has anyone tried the Autozone Durolast Gold Ceramic pads for track or autocross use? I needed a set of pads on a Sunday, and they were my only option. But I definitely like them as a street pad and I think they would be fine for combined street and light track use. Not as dusty as the OEM pads, not expensive and they carry a lifetime warranty. Just keep the box to return them with.

I've had them on my car for about 2 or 3 years, maybe 6,000 to 8,000 miles. I swap out to Carbotech XP-8 front and rear on track, bringing the Durolasts as the backup pad. I run Intermediate - momentum tracks. Stock S2000.
