Help me with a report
Thank you S2kretard for your opinion. There is someone I know that is interested in building a couple of racetracks and wanted to know what people are interested in incase he wanted to incorporate different ideas into his design.

Yea...well it's hard to give out information just yet. It's in the works that some new race tracks will be built and a guy wanted some information on what people would be interested in. I told him since I was a member of a few car forums that I would ask what they would be interested in if a new race track was going to be built. He told me not to give any information because of certain reasons but wanted to know what people would be interested in.
What your friend needs to do is ask his client what THEY want out of a race track, not us.
Build the track to his clients' needs and they would be very happy.
Better yet, instead of having you relay his messages, have him register on here and ask us directly. That'll lead to the least misunderstanding.

Exactly.
For the first time, I finally feel like this guy is not yanking my chain.
What I want in a race track is some real elevation changes, a mix of on and off camber corners, a mix of high and low speed corners, and maybe most of all I want it to seem like it is a natural part of the landscape. Don't forget to make sure the track drains well.
Thunderhill is a great example of all that.
I also want good pavement, air and water and power in the paddock, flush toilets, and hot food. A classroom is great, as is a dining/resting room. Also, there should be some way to walk out and observe different parts of the track.
And don't forget well-placed corner workers.
Covered and well-drained paddock space is a big bonus.
