It is very slight, but placing it on the top put the heavier main spring lower, thus lower center of gravity.

i havent found a reason why its not even but i think i will have to just live with it.

i have tried adjusting the preload with and without the sway link and have put it on the ground with and without sway bar and it is still off.

today i check the spring rates and they are the same. i measured from bolt to current location and still off.

not sure what the problem is, might be something internal as it was sent out for rebuild but it rides fine and adjusts great.

btw anyone getting squeek from the top of their r2 from the rubber bushing on the top?

i am thinking of spraying some silicon inside as its driving me a little nuts

It has to move up/down when adjusting preload, if not something is binding.
I would take both shocks out, check everything and compare to each other.

Did you preload the suspension before tightening everything down?

Resurrecting an old thread, but regarding the helper springs: Where can I find block height (or fully compressed height) of some 2.5" options? I found a chart for Swift springs (available in 60 and 65mm), but only see the free length of other options. Eibach has compressed height listed for their "tender" springs, but those have rates starting at 150 lbs. The catalog has nothing but a blank spot where their helper spring compressed height should be listed. Both the Hyperco 4" and 6" "zero-rate" helpers say they compress to 1/4" ... I'm looked for something with a compressed height of 1" in 2.5 ID in order to add an inch to the bump travel of the shock ... (correct me if my thinking is wrong)

Thx!
Thomas

You don't gain travel with helper springs. It's only to keep the weight loaded on the spring

Depending on your setup i think you can raise the car or install extended top hats for more travel

If you can lower your shock body that will also gain travel since you can lengthen the shock
