Default HKS Hipermax III

I've had my TC Design front control arms for some time now, without issue. I have been running about -3.5d of front camber with no problems. When I came to fit my new coilovers I found that the arm was actually touching the shock body. I have had to adjust the inside bolts out a long way to give enough clearance.

This doesn't leave much thread inside the arm and has also considerably reduced the camber available.

I now have just enough space but I need a better solution;

Does anyone know if the lower gold ring can be moved upwards? I have tried and it seems pretty solid (but maybe I just need to try harder). Is that second lower ring really neccessary?

Any ideas? I could probably get away with less clearance than I have now but I am worried about damaging the shocks.

the lower gold ring can be moved, but it will change your ride height since your coilovers are dual height adjustable. try using a soft mallet with your spanner wrenches to break them loose.

The TCD arms touched my KW v3's as well. I pushed the inboard adjusters out as far as I thought was safe and they still touched.

Thanks, I will try that. But just so we are clear the ring I am talking about is;

I don't understand how moving that ring upwards a couple of inches will change the ride height? In fact, I can't see what function it is providing in it's current position.

SC_Highlander, what did you do? Did you have to go back to the OEM arms?

Also, does anyone know if the Ikeya Formula arms will give better clearance? They appear to be thinner in their design than the TC ones.

They only touched at full-droop, so I just left them. I switched to custom valved koni's about a month ago, though, so I no longer have that problem. I'd be interested in more details on the Ikeya arms, though, as my ap2 rear wheels rub on the TC arms.

the adjustment perch that you are pointing to acts as a lock for your height adjustment. if you loosen that perch and turn the upper half of the coilover assembly, you can lower or raise your ride height. The perch acts like a lock nut, so once you've gotten it to the height you want, you turn it down against the lower half of the coilover assembly to prevent further movement. If you just raise the perch to get it out of the way of the control arm, you risk your suspension lowering itself over time.
