Hoosiers-results-update
This past Sunday the SCCA's Central Kentucky Region hosted its 4th autocross event of the year at Commonwealth Stadium. This event was my 6th, two last year and the four this year. I had won the previous three events running the stock tires. My average margin of victory was somewhere in the neighborhood of .8 seconds. Typically our lap times are anywhere from 35 to 40 seconds. Sunday was my first race on a new set of Hoosiers. I one my class by 2.4 seconds and garnered the fastest Pax time for the entire group of cars (131). What a difference a tire makes. I have got a question for you veterans. Is our car really that superior to the competition in our class? Some of those guys were grousing on Sunday about my car. I did beat the entire AS class and some of the SS guys. I am a newbie and really did not have an answer for them. I just shrugged my shoulders in response. My car is completely stock so I really do not understand what all the fuss is about. Aren't the classes based on some sort of criteria that essentially levels the playing field for everyone?

Sounds like sour grapes to me. I've either been taking fastest stock time or nearly so on every event this year yet I know I'm 1-2 seconds slower than Nationals-level people (when I run against them, it's pretty consistent). That makes me fast in the region but mid-pack, at best, for an event with the best folks around. Go forth and plunder - take no prisoners!
