Thanks for all your reply.

I just ordered the "Going Faster" and "Secrets of Solo Racing" books recommended by you guys from Amazon. I will read them and then keep going to the autox events. Hopefully one day I will get to the level I want.

Yee Man

PS I think I spent enough time in GT games already. However, it is very different from autox though... I believe GT will be useful when I go to Laguna Seca. I've "lapped" there couple hundred times already...

i think taking rides from other more experienced drivers also helped me a great deal. watching and feeling what it's like for a better driver to reach the limits is awesome.

You can't really use GT3 as practice because the cars still drive like a they would in a game. The only way to do it is if you switch to simulation tires available in the game. Then the car would handle more realistically. And they are VERY difficult to control. At least that is my experience with GT2, haven't tried that yet with GT3.

Definitely keep your eyes open for a local Auto-X class, for a LOT less $$ than Evolution or other "formal" schools. Around the LA area we run about one two-day tire-shredding class per year for something like $75 (sorry, we did our bit this year).

But I remember my first class. Took many seconds off my time.
