What I also think is worth noting is minimizing any pressure drop from adding an oil cooler. I noticed a ~7psi pressure drop in vtec when the thermostat was fully open on the oil cooler. To compensate for this I drilled a small hole in the sandwich plate which allows oil to bypass the oil cooler and pressure is back to "normal." Of course with very hot oil (pre-oil cooler) I saw pressures fall as well on track at 280F+, but oil pressure is obviously critical.

Which sandwich plate are you running? I thought the mishi and the mocal thermostatic plates never fully closed as to prevent a sudden drop in oil pressure for this exact reason?

I'm going to be monitoring these things much closer now that I've officially shaken down the new motor. Planning to change oil after every event.

140k mile F20C. Using Motul 10w-40 6100 Synergie+. Stock oil pan.
Mishimoto radiator, no oil cooler, Honda oil filter. Cusco catch can.

The car is driven 4 hours total to and from the track pulling a 600-700lb tire trailer. That keeps the motor under a little more load. On-road oil consumption is normal.

After 2 30-minute sessions at Sebring, I found the car to have burned almost 1/3 quart of oil. Ambient temps were around 88-90 degrees last weekend and oil consumption was consistent throughout the 2 day event. Just emptied the catch can, topped up the oil level and went back out. Wound up consuming just under 2 quarts over both days.. I will be sending an oil analysis out since it was the first full event with the new motor and oil. If it looks an oil cooler will help, I will install one.

I need to find a new catch can setup with a little more volume. Vent to atmosphere with no filter was... messy

Sounds like you need to do the RainH8er mod. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-ra...ation-1133707/

What supporting mods do you have...158K is no joke and a testament to how you take care of it. Do you have an oil cooler ..?

I change mine every 5-6 days. I have 175k on my car, it still leaks down <5% and made a dynojet 206whp last month. It does go through about half a quart a day, depending on the track.

I will probably try doing 10+ days on my current oil change. Here is my latest oil analysis where I had done 8 track days on my oil.
