Default How to separate softtop frame and mounting bracket

I have the complete soft top frame out of the car.

How do I separate the frame from the mounting bracket that I will need to re-use for the mounts for the hard top?

you will have to cut the side plates out. i think most ppl just leave it out of the car, the hardtop will still install without it. the cr has side gusset plates that are basically the same thing

I agree on cutting it.

I just removed mine and I wondered the same thing but instead of breaking out a hacksaw I bought the Izzy's rear race brackets and problem solved.

Do you have a link for the brackets? Looks to me like the stock brackets are better in that they have more attachment points. May be breaking out the hacksaw/grinder.

EDIT: Googled and found the link.

Used a plasma cutter. Took about 4 minutes.

If you cut them off, the softop becomes useless. Just get izzy mounts or you could order the plates from Honda (since they come with the CR).
