Default I did it wrong

It was a great day until I crashed. Turn 10 bit me hard. I didn't feel like I was going any hotter then normal, but I just didn't have the stick of even the lap before. There were a good number of marbles near the exit too. I went off track understeering a bit. Normally I would just point it straight and ride it out, but the wall closes in fast on the left side. I steered it back on the track, but the second the passenger side front wheel caught it spun me 90 degrees and slammed me into the concrete barrier. I was probably going 50-60mph.

My employees think they are funny....

First time on Infineon. Cool track, not a lot of run off room. I guess 10 collects a good number of cars. I will try to avoid that happening in the future. I just thought I would share my humiliation.

Bending cars is unfortunately an inevitable consequence of hard tracking -- just take solace in the fact that you're ok.

Your "we are not amused" face in the third shot's a keeper.

Don't answer that question unless you want the insurance company to see it ;-)

I have been totally honest with them and they are going to fix it knowing that it happened at Infineon, on track, in a non-timed event. Once everything works out I will spill the beans. No extra insurance was needed. It will be interesting to see what happens after it's all done. They may make me sign something that says they won't cover me if i do it again!

I totalled my 350Z at Buttonwillow in 2004, at the Performance Driving Clinic put on by the track owners. No racing and no timing. I told my insurance company the truth, they covered the loss, and paid me more than I thought the car was worth. Good luck.
