In Comptech's defense, they did have Ron Bauer and Annie Gill running the bar alot last year with no problems.

I think V2 has corrected the problem. Spas2000 and I are running the new version on his car and have had no problems so far. I like it alot!

Biggest change was in the bolt and bolt hole area. The bolt is much beefier and there is no welded in sleeve on the inner bar in the new design. I think the new bar is stiffer also. I have some pics and will post them if I can put my hands on 'em.

As I recall, the inner bar is thicker, prolly to make up for the lack of sleeve. Otherwise, they're the same bar - the new thickness adds 30% to the stiffness.

I got mine replaced when I removed it and couldn't move the adjustment bolt. Ended up drilling it out. The new bar won't have that problem since there's no sleeve to bind to.

As an update to this previous post - after several more events (autocross and DE at the track) I noticed cracks around several bolt holes. Since I had been using the bar on only one setting during this time, I suspect that the cracking had started earlier and I hadn't noticed. Inspect the area around the sleeved holes carfully on the V1 bar.

The bar was replaced by Comptech without hassle. I like the slightly stiffer design of the V2 bar on concrete and even get understeer on asphalt with the bar set at its stiffest position!
