hopefully last question.

did comptech send you the replacement swaybar first (secured by credit card, or similar means) or did you have to ship your swaybar to them first?

I am asking because I am hesitant about driving my s2000 without any front swaybar.

thanks again,
mark

This is exactly how my case was handled too. The process was very easy and efficient with the charge and credit appearing on the same statement.

Looks like Comptech is taking good care of their customers, luckily my V1 bar has no cracks yet.
I only use the 4th. and 5th. bolt positions when racing R tires 225/245 and #1 bolt on the street 205/225 SO-2's.

I have had the V2 Comptech adjustable bar since last fall. I have always had some light clunking sound on very low speed turns and bumps, like when turning into a driveway or creeping over speed-bumps. Seems to be getting more frequent recently. Has anyone else with the V2 bar experienced this? Could it be the bushings and would lubricating them in addition to the teflon tape help?

The noise I have seems to be from the urethane bushings. Take them off and rewrap with the Teflon tape or grease them and see if the noise goes away. This is common with this sort of bushing.

Also, while the bar is apart, I suggest greasing the inner bar so that it is less likely to rust and to dampen any noises coming from the area between the two bars.

Thanks for the suggestions; I'll do these next time I have the bar off. Would a shot of WD40 in the bushings every now and then be a bad idea (would it damage the bushings)?

probably won't do anything at all. WD40 evaporates in a minute or so. After that all of its lubricative properties are gone.

May try 3-in-1 oil. cheap and liquid. although it may increase the possibility of dirt and grit inside the bar...
