Default Laguna Seca sound restriction

Does anyone have any experience running the T1R 70EM at Laguna Seca? I'm just trying to figure out if I have to either put the cat back on, or swap back to stock. Thanks.

Exhaust don't really help with lap times, you could do either one, put the cat on or just put stock exhaust on.

Whats the sound limit at laguna ? I believe my stock exhaust did like 93db at 5500 rpm when the referee tested it.

Just play it safe and install your stock exhaust or bring it with you.

Its not worth it to ruin your whole day because you couldnt be bothered.

Sound limit varies, but it's pretty strict.

I ran four sessions with the 70REM Ti and passed the 92dB at Laguna with the following config.

Stock Intake (must)
OEM Cat
70 REM Titanium
R-Compounds (higher rpm out of the corners)

It rained on my last session and I was flagged for sound.
Lower temp. + lower cloud lines could have caused my sound violation but its borderline pass/fail.

Hey rob,

so you're saying I'd most likely fail with a comptech intake and 70em?

Intake noise fails a lot of cars at Laguna.

better to change the exhaust now than risk being SOL and waste a day by not driving or coasting uphill between turns 5 and 6 to pass sound. Just swap out the exhaust to stock now and go have fun on an awesome track.
