[QUOTE=Billj747,Dec 1 2008, 03:20 PM] KW Club Sports from what I have heard recently have slightly higher spring rates and damping.

Its been ages since I tracked my S on SOW... I think that lap was from Feb. 2007.. I am sure the track has changed since early 07 or late 06.

From having owned the following systems: KW V3, KW CS, HKS, Tein SRC, JRZ 2 way..

Stock or close to stock S2000 for street/track duty: KW V3/CS
Modified S2000 for track/lap records: Tein SRC
I would love to see you guys come back to SOW. I know its a long drive for you. From the way you are driving these days I would not be surprise if you hit your old time on street tires!! Anyway Ive been chasing your times since I started tracking this year. Keep up the kick ass driving Rob (Maxrev). Hope to see you guys at buttonwillow in Jan of next year.

Great thread on coilovers here I am learning as we go. What I am taking from this personaly ( I too am in the sub $2500 market) is that the V3's offer a slightly more street friendly spring rate (500lb./in.?) and finer adjustability but in a non aluminum shock body which could be bad for midwest winters

The Hypermax III has a harder spring rate (700lb./in.?) with less adjustability but in an all aluminum package to resist corrosion.

Question, what about rebuiilds? How often do each need to be rebuilt? I am pretty sure the KW's can be sent away to be serviced but what about the HKS? I know on the official coilover thread someone stated he had 40,000 miles on Buddy Club N1's with no problems...

A;so, roll center adjusters, I assume they are a must have if we are lowering beyond 40mm?

KW Club Sports from what I have heard recently have slightly higher spring rates and damping. Could this be the answer to a sub $3K damper that wont beat you up that is proper? I think the V3s are, but the at least 2 cars Iknow of that regularly go to Buttonwillow were too low screwing up their geometry and bottoming out on the bumpstops making for a very unpredictable drive.

I'm sure a decent driver will eventually make it to BW with R-comps and KW's set to the proper damping and will make a good time. But until then, the speculation can continue..
I loved the CS and the V3's for that matter, KW always does a great job of matching the damping to the spring rates via engineering I just think that they could have gone a bit more aggressive.

No, KW does have the best in anti corrosion, that is one of their major selling points. The INOX stainless is tough as nails. I have had 5 sets of KW's for different cars over the years, some new some not, and I have never had any issues with durability.

Maxrev I thought you clocked faster lap times with the HKS coils of the cs? I am torn between hks and v3s. Are the cs worth the money over the v3s?

The track sure has changed alot. I haven't driven streets in awhile but from the videos I've seen online there have been 2 stages of changes for streets:

1) Repaved chicane
2) Repaved turn 2 all the way up until the sweeper leading to the bowl.

The repaved chicane probably does not open much time but it is significantly easier for people to take at full speed. I haven't driven the new repaved section prior to the bowl so I'll have to reserve my comments for that until I actually do.

As far as coilovers go, I've owned the following systems: Tein RA, KW V3, Tein SRC, Motorsport Bilstein, and JRZ 2-way.

From my favorite to least favorite:

JRZ 2-way > Tein SRC > Motorsport Bilstein > KW V3 >> Tein RA

[QUOTE=600rr_rocket,Dec 2 2008, 10:50 PM]Hello,

Based on what I've seen, street tire lap times have decreased by approximately 0.5-1 sec with the repavement and wider chicane at SOW.
