Default looking at different wings

I'm in the process of buying a wing and I'm on the budget. I'm not even looking at any of those 3D cool designs because I'd rather put the money into suspension or tires. I was looking at different APR wings and they have a few different designs. I'm trying to figure out which wing to get and what are the pros/cons of each design or if it's just looks. Thanks for your input airplane designers .
Here are the wings:

Evolution GT Series: tear drop side plate
GT Series: GT side plate
dual element/dual plane
per APR: average track speed less than 120mph

Racing Spec GT Series
dual element/single plane
per APR: average track speed more than 120mph

V-Spec Series
either dual elemnet/dual plane or dual element/single plane
per APR: average track speed less than 120mph

all wings have a span of either 55" or 61"
all wings are 13" tall
GT wings have a total plane width of ~13", V-Spec wing has a total plane width of 7.5"

thx for your help

Basically the more elements and planes you have and the bigger they are the more downforce you create. All the reasons get technical of course and that description won't help you design a wing but that's about what you need to know in evaluating a purchase.

My opinion based on theory is that you won't gain much from a huge wing on the S2000 because you be unbalancing the car -- you will have a lot more downforce in the rear than in the front. I am going with the V-Spec single plane and matching it with a front splitter/airdam. My rough calculations showed these two items should create roughly the same downforce. I also have some underbody ground effects in the back helping me out though too... V-Spec is highest I would go. It's really the front you should be worried about more than the rear in creating downforce for this car. As an FYI I think the V-Spec would create about 100 lbs of downforce at 120 mph. My MPH might be off, I would have to check my notes again, but that's the ballpark.

I would love to hear some opinions though of how the car feels with a bigger rear wing.

Vspec for the same reasons. Plus it can get A of A adjustment for tuning.

Nothing like the feeling of a loose front end at high speed to get the old colon working. Esp, with a cross-wind...

The dual element wings also have A of A adjustment. You adjust the angle of top element. I've been trying to decide which wing to go with, myself.

I'm really leaning toward the V-Spec wing. I know the other two would be an overkill, but i wanted to know if there is anything special/beneficial about the design.

I spoke with APR today and they told me that even the V-Spec is too much for S2000 . APR says that GT200 would be a perfect wing for our car ...it's also 3X the price of V-Spec What do you guys think?

Scroll down a few threads on this forum and you'll find a thread about the APR GTC wings along with other very useful info about wings in general (in case you missed it).

There's also a thread about the S2K specific GTC-200 wing by Berk Technology elsewhere on s2ki.com. Mounting points are different than the universal wing they sell. The GTC200/300 are more expensive, but a lot cheaper than the J's racing.

I would love to see some data on the CR wing, since it is supposed to be functional and it's about the same price as the APR GTC200.

yeah, i already went through those threads, but like i said i dont really want to spend that much money on a wing, so i'm looking at cheaper alternatives

btw: i'm still a little confused that APR said Spec-V is an overkill for S2000, when i look at the j's wing it seems like Spec-V is tiny

What is too much? At what angle? Why?

I can speak with some certainty here. Simply adding a wing can upset the car's balance- good or bad. A GTC-200 can cause understeer and lots of it when using too much AOA. Since I don't want to give up the planted rearend feeling, I'm going to try to balance the car with different spring rates and some added frontal downforce.
