yeah, i already went through those threads, but like i said i dont really want to spend that much money on a wing, so i'm looking at cheaper alternatives
btw: i'm still a little confused that APR said Spec-V is an overkill for S2000, when i look at the j's wing it seems like Spec-V is tiny
I'm quite surprised to hear this. I can't imagine the V-spec single plane produces more downforce than the gtc 200 3-d carbon wing they make.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a firm believer in balanced aeros. Front first in my rulebook. But I have a realy hard time believing that a simple single element wing at 0 deg is going to be too much on our car, particularly compared to some monstrosity. I think they are pushing a more expensive sale.
Dont forget to consider how the wing will be mounted and its stabilty at speed. My wing came loose (no major damage luckily). I had to remount it with cross braces to stabillize it, above and below the trunk. I would recommend mounting it NOT to the trunk if possible.
Notice the fine tubing onthe first 2 pics. Its absent on the 3rd--thats the race in which it failed on me. I think the wing helps--surprisingly under hi speed straight line hard braking. Mine is a Mike Moss racing wing.

Not suprising at all if the spring rates in front are not stiff enough. Weight transfer to front unloads the rear. Wing helps keep it down. I, too, noticed this the first time I used one.
