Looking for info on AutoX events near Chicago
I am looking to get involved with some AutoX events and perhaps some track days with my S. How do I find events in my area? I live near Chicago. I am also interested in the rules involved and just general information about the logistics of the day. What would be a "day in the life" of an AutoX event?
I found the link to the rules for the various classes, and that confused me even more. It seems like while there are general rules, there are also regional rules that can take precident. I have a CAI so I know I am out of B-stock. Honestly, I am not interested in winning a certian class, I just want to see what the car can do. (And mabey beat my friends' times. )
Where should I start?

Here's the two largest auto-x organizations in Chicago:
http://www.scca-chicago.com (click on Solo)
http://www.tsscc.org/
And here's a page with a pretty exhaustive schedule of events within a few hundred mile radius, including track events, ice racing & rallycross.

Before you come out to the SCCA event in Joliet, email the registrar (registration@scca-chicago.com) and get on the waiting list.
Right now, both days of the event are full and there are already people on the waiting list.
There is still space available in the Tri-State event next Sunday. Go to http://register.tsscc.org to register online.
