I have considered the JICs, but I haven't seen them for $1550.

They are available for 1600 shipped. Speedracerparts.com sells them. Just for reference, a sponsor on this board offered them to me for the same price through PM. Just PM the guys whom you know sell them and I'm sure they'll give you the same price.

my 2 cents from this spring debate is that the only reason they have a softer spring up front is b/c of the smaller tires being used. If you step up to a 225 front, you need higher spring rates. I'm going to installing 8kg springs in the rear to replace the 10kg that's in there now. I'll leave my 10kgs up front.

I am and davepk is, and there are others too. My recent Laguna and Thunderhill times at www.speedventures.net/www.nsxfiles.com are on ohlins with the springs swapped front-to-rear.
Even w/ 225/245 the stiffer springs in the front make keep our rear end planted and help a lot with inside rear wheel lift.
I think spec miatas runs springs about 200 in/lb stiffer springs in the front.
