he wants to quantify value of a specific mod. and i think that is a good thing to know. think dyno results in track time instead of hp, for the purpose of testing compoennts. did i get that right op?
Yup. Thanks.

Let me give you guys an example, this is my Evo 8 lap time history at a local track down here in Chile:

- 100% Stock: 57.82
- 3" Exhaust / ECU Reflash (+80whp/+90lb-ft): 57.17
- R-comps (Pirelli Pzero Corsa 225/40/17): 55.95
- Front LSD (Torsen): 55.83
- HKS Hipermax III Sport, Alignment (-3.5F/-1.8R): 54.04

In this short, low-speed track, tires and suspension were the biggest "time improvers" by far. I was actually quite surprised with the suspension performance making more difference than tires only. The better alignment possible due to camber plates included in the front suspension sure played a big role in that too.

Same car / same weight / similar weather conditions / same driver.

I hope I made myself clear with this example, maybe someone does have similar data for his S2000? or am I the only obsessive guy?

That still doesn't quantify by mod, as each mod was added on top of the others. If you had modded in a different order, would each mod have had the same effect? Probably not.

Man, I know. Point taken, along with all other previous caveats you have mentioned. I don´t have the time, money or patience to do an isolated test on every part I install on the car, and I believe that to be true for a big majority of amateur drivers.

Take the info for what it`s worth. If it´s worthless to you, please move along, I would still like to hear it.

Were all those mods done in one day? Probably not. We see net gains/losses greater than 2 secs depending on environmental conditions.

The list I provided was to help decide what to work on first. Of course we can't quantify the gains. Do we look like F1 outfits?

If I were to list importance of those categories, I'd say:

1. Driver
2. Weight
3. Aero
4. Power
5. Tires
6. Suspension

I'm assuming tires just means difference between R-comps and top street tires, since were talking about tracking here. Also making the assumption that we are talking about a set a new tires. If not, I'd bump tires up to #2 if it were the difference between a heat cycled old set of S02's versus a new set of shaved NT-01s.
Ah! I forgot about weight. I would rank weight as 2nd as well.
