Default Nasa TT Chit Chat

Didnt see a TT thread on here so i figure why not start one.. Hopefully this can be a grounds for discussion about what set ups work well for people or whatever other sort of TT related stuff.

Anyways i have a question is about the point system, specifically about aero. Will i get hit with points for having a CR lip on my car??

Guys what makes a car a TTB car, a TTC car and lastly a TTD car. For a noob, with barely a toe in the door, that rule book is like trying to read sandpaper.

Are u asking why certain cars get classed in TTB, TTC, or TTB or how to calculate what class your in after all your mods? IM not really sure what your question is..

Cars get a base class so for example 2000-2003 s2000 is TTD** (the ** means it already starts off with 14 points). From there mods like tires, wings, engine upgrades ect add points.

20 thru 39 points - Up ONE Class
40 thru 59 points - Up TWO Classes
60 thru 79 points - Up THREE Classes
80 thru 99 points - Up FOUR Classes
100 thru 119 points - Up FIVE Classes

So say now that your 2001 S2000 has Toyo R888 (+6) and a rear wing (+4) but everything else is stock your car is now at 24 points therefor you fall under 20 thru 39 points - Up ONE Class resulting in you being put in TTC. All this is set up to keep the cars at an even playing field.

If your car is a CR then it has those points already accounted for. If your CR lip is not BTM on your car then you will take +3 points for front fascia modification (Section G.1), and +3 points for a splitter (Section G.2), and +2 points for canards (Section G.3).

The CR lip is a huge waste of points if you are trying to stay in TTC.

The S2000 recipe is pretty simple for TTC.
+0 Flashpro or VAFC
+3 225 Hoosier R7
+4 wing
+5 shocks and springs
+5 Intake/Header/Exhaust

The TT rules are actually pretty simple and clear cut. The easiest way to do it is get the TT Classification sheet and just make done every mod you have on it.

Well, I see that my car could be competitive in several classes with minor changes. I guess theres no real cookie cutter set of mods that equate said class. So back to fiddling with the calculators and book.

Andrew McKelvey has/had a pretty killer TTC setup, at least what I could tell during the few events I ran with him and his car.

You could also get a dyno reclass...

but, this is the formula:

I am competitive with this setup, placing in the podium in SoCal and Arizona events, but it's not a winning combination if more than three people show up in a S2000 with the above setup; It's basically a S2KC street classed car:
- 255 all around (Maxxis RC1, 17x9)
- stock shocks / eibach springs
- wing
- splitter
- stoptech bbk
- exhaust, stock air box
- hardtop

Not really a set-up question, but does anyone know why in NASA SE there are hardly any cars in TTC? I'm thinking of starting TT at the end of this year, it seems to me that TTC is the perfect class for an S2000 without going crazy with budget. I really don't care about competition now, but I'm sure after one or two events I would want the challenge. Are there just not many drivers, or not many cars that fall into TTC?

There are S2ks in SE region. They will come out if there are enough in class to win contingencies. Just ping it on the NASA forums or FB pages.

NASA will do away with TTB next year and start TT4 class which will have a ratio of 12.0:1 so I'm thinking there will quite a few newcomers to the TT field as its a mixed bag of TTB and TTC.

3 of us were just at the Roebling event and we all jumped to B for contingency as it made 7 in class. the 3 of us that jumped from C to B took 1-2-3 lol
