Here is an entertaining read for you guys that are getting into TT: https://www.s2ki.com/...up/page__st__50

And to the op, the cr lip is waste of points and isn't needed. You can throw a wing on the back and not have to worry too much about aero imbalance induced understeer, unless you run a kognition wing or similar 2d wing.

To be the most competitive in an s2000 you really need to reclass to TTC. This will allow you to negate any points for engine mods. To reclass just email the TT director your current whp (with accompanying dyno sheet) and and desired class, and he will give you your competition weight limit. Just fyi it won't be anywhere near the class weight/hp limit. For s2000 in TTC it is usually around 12.85. There is a thread in this subforum that discussed a lot of TT'ers setups and reclass numbers, including the top guys. I couldn't find it but I'm sure with more diligence it could be dug up.

Found it: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/110...-nasa-tt-setup

This is an awesome thread with a wealth of information. So if you plan on building a front running car or at least want to be competitive I would recommend reading that thread.

1) Goto a DynoJet
2) Do 3 pulls hitting the rev limiter
3) Print out the graph with the 3 runs
4) Email your forms and graph to Greg ask him what you weight is (you tell him your power and class)
5) Wait for Greg's reply

Pretty much this. When you dyno reclass you won't take points for any engine mods. But at the same time you cant drop more weight or increase power without a different reclass.

http://www.nasa-tt.com/Rules

Read the rules it has a section for how to dyno reclass. The form can be found in the link as well

Everyone prepping their car for the current TT rules, should keep one eye on the future ST/TT rules proposal. Seems likely they will be enacted for next year (2017). In many ways it could simplify the modifications, but will certainly require everyone to have dyno sheets

OK so not to completely thread-jack but Ive been looking at the TT rules as well to see how my car would cross-over from S2K challenge and it looks like most mod-class cars will end up in TTB (S2K challenge doesn't penalize you for some longevity items like BBK that NASA does).

So my car by my math (2005 AP2) :

Base class TTC

255mm -1
Maxxis RC1 6
Intake 1
Test pipe 3
Tein SRC (piggy back reservoirs) 5
Springs 2
Ball joints 2
Stoptech BBK 2
Splitter 3
GT-250 wing 4
K-pro 0?

So that has me at TTC +27pts or TTB.

In S2KC its a 6.25pt mod class car.

Have I done this right?

What is NASA SoCal's opinion on soft-topped cars? Is it best if i just find an OEM knock off or can I run with the soft top? Car has full Bar/Seat/Harness with HANS.

Close. I am set up almost the exact same, except I have canards for +2, but Ohlins, which is -2 from what you have. The only thing you have is the -1 for the 255 doesn't count, because 255 is the base tire size for TTC, which is the base class for the car, so it ends up being 0. That puts us both at 28 points. It is kind of confusing on that when jumping classes.

Also, search online and you can find the Excel spreadsheets that calculate everything for you. All you have to do is check boxes for what mods you have.
