Default NASA TT/PT

The new rules should be coming out any time now. I've already seen the first changes I'm worried about.

from the NASA list of changes:
4) A few cars have been bumped up in points by one asterisk (about 10)
the S maybe?

17) Any front fascia or air dam modification is +3 points.
does this include making brake ducts?

19) Any added, replaced, or modified rear wing or spoiler is +4 points (and no wing or spoiler can be higher than 8 inches above the roofline, or wider than the body of the vehicle).
I think we currently take 5pts for wings, so this is good...as long as mine isn't too wide

oh well, we should no soon enough

I sure hope they don't bump the S2000 any more base points...

I would think brake ducting, since it doesn't provide an aerodynamic advantage, would not be subject to the rule regarding the front fascia... who knows though?

Trust me they won't. I talked with Greg G. National TT director and he said as much as he doesn't like the s2000 he was not goin to change the rules toward them. Now this was back in sept. so we will see.

and matt as far as the brake ducts. that is no points.

7) ECU reprogramming and chips are now a No-Points modification. The OEM ECU/PCM box/housing/hardware must be used, though.

This looks like a big plus for those who can do the K Pro or Hondata re-flash. Not so beneficial for the older models, like my 01. I'm still in HPDE so no bother to me.

How about J's or Mugen ecu?
They're technically OEM ECU's retuned???

Rob,
04 and newer are now PTC, where I'm pretty sure they started in PTD last year. So the older cars have a 5pt advantage right from the start. And I'm not sure about last year, but it looks like the aem ems would only be +3, if any of us had the money for that
