I need to read the new rules Matt so I make good choices during the build, after the cage of course. I'm half way there and should be real close the second week of Jan.

[QUOTE=9kI4,Dec 19 2008, 09:13 PM] Rob,
04 and newer are now PTC, where I'm pretty sure they started in PTD last year.

I realized that when I was typing that post Skip. It got me so frustrated that I decided to not even begin to go into it.

I guess the turbo cars all just got a huge boost from the rules committee

How about J's or Mugen ecu?
They're technically OEM ECU's retuned???
Yeah, as long as they're in the OEM housing they're fine.

As far as the Hondata standalone, it comes inside an OEM housing, but doesn't fit completely within the housing, so I think you still get +3 for that (never seen anybody with one though).

This is incorrect, Matt. They bumped the weight on the AP1's from 2810lbs to 2850lbs. That equates to approximately +3.3 pts. The AP2's were bumped +6pts from TTD** to TTC, but their weight was dropped from 2855lbs to 2850lbs. The difference between the two models is only(actually, less than) +3pts.

As for the wing, the one point saved helps, but any hope of me running Hoosiers and staying in TTC is out the window.

I wouldn't want to have an '04-'06. VAFC's are no-pointers now, but they pale in comparison to a reflash.The least penalized car is the '07+ model. Even though the car was plus-sixed, it gains points back from no points for any reflash. The one thing to consider is that now every other car can do this for no points. I promise you that cars will benefit much more from this than the S2000... if a competitor takes advantage of it.
Just came to mind...

The gap between the AP1/2 is even smaller than listed above. Since the AP2's have moved up to a base of TTC, a 255 tire can be used without an add'l +1. That makes the point difference between the two models less than two points.

The difference between an AP1 and a reflashable AP2 is less than two points(figuring in weight). Wow.
