Default Need a clutch recommendation

Hey guys - currently I have a MY06 S2000 w roughly 50K miles. Previous owner seemed to take a toll on my clutch - the thing slips like mad during fast shifts. (often for 1-2 seconds at a time while the revs are going freely)

I had to ask - is this a clutch problem? (Assuming yes) Some were telling me its the Clutch Delay Valve? On the other token - I would like to know what a good street/track clutch is going to be. I want good grab, with firm pedal feel and good use on the street. By firm pedal feel I mean a little stiffer (10-20% tops) from stock. I want basically no slip at all. Any recommendations for a complete package would be wonderful.

I am also wondering if aftermarket clutches will wear other parts faster - the slave cylinder etc. Should I be worried about anything else? What can I expect in terms of life from an aftermarket clutch?

As always - thanks for any help guys. I've never done a clutch so I was just wondering what the fellow track guys are using and if they are/aren't happy with them.

I use a stock disk with a Heavy Duty ACT pressure plate we also run an ACT lightweight flywheel with great success. Ive also heard good things about the Exedy Hypersingle though havn't tried it yet

^^ Either of those is a great choice. FYI the J's Racing clutch kit is just a re-branded Exedy Hyper Single too.

ACT PP and disk. Use AP1 flywheel (under 10 lbs) for cheap solution.
Same pedal feel as stock but RPM drop like flies.

It sounds like a winning combination is the ACT pressure plate, OEM clutch, and ACT (9 lbs) or AP1 (14 lbs) flywheel. Also, remove the CDV if your car has it.

I decided to go with ACT pressure plate, comptech FW and stock disk

from what I read here its worth noting the ACT street disk is the same as OEM it just costs more

what youre describing is your cdv.. let someone else drive the car and see what they think before spending money on the clutch.
