New S2000 Challenge CLASSIFICATION for 2003
spec tires 50
intake 15
VAFC 15
wheels 20
that's what i'd do. for the wheels, i meant that you don't need taller wheels necessarily, 16 are fine. But 17's are probably better ultimately and not that much more expensive. But, yes, wider would be better for sure.
as far as VAFC goes, it's $500 vs. $1100 for the flywheel, including labor and I think it gives just as good a result if tuned by someone who knows what they're doing.
BTW, I"m selling my ultralight Volk TE-37's (17x7.5, 17x8.5). I'm gonna use the money to help buy coilovers for my 2003 PRODUCTION class effort.
I'm looking at:
spec tire 50
coilovers 75
VAFC 15
Flywheel 10
Intake 15
Rear Wing 20 (assuming i can build something for $200).
swaybar 15
= 200 pts.
I'm gonna lick ass.

Don't know about my competitors, but that's not the sort of "podium finish" I was hoping for!Wait a sec - Rylan, you naughty moderator, you.
and so begins the 2003 smack, 2 weeks early...
I think I might "stay pat" with my setup, unless I see some people giving me an ass whupping at Laguna.
Hoosiers - 100 points
Intake - 15 points
But on second thought, after having a flashback of a chain link fence, maybe I should try to throw a rear wing on.....
-Doug
World Record Holder for Normally Aspirated MOD-R Class at Thunderhill and Willow Springs. (Woulda had the Streets of Willow also if it wasn't for that chain line fence and the Jasons with the BAUW)

Hey mister cheater, what happened to the front swaybar?
BTW, you'll get your ass majorly whooped by me with that set up, so I'd reconsider if I were you. Of course betting is always an option

If that bar wouldn't of broke at Thill, I'd have 10 more points toward the overall trophy, and then DT/AB would forever in the annuals of history be known as "2nd Place in the First Annual S2000 Challenge Series Mod-R class". Instead, I get stuck with 2nd, and DT/AB becomes the newly Crowned MOD-R King.

p.s. Wasn't there a points infraction a couple of events ago by someone?
