NJ Pro: STR getting clobbered. Why?
Couldn't make it up there as Justin had a Tough Mudder today.
I'm looking at results. STR is barely out-rawing STX (and the leader in STX is in a VERY underprepared car, in 50 degree weather, on Hankook RS3s). 3 seconds back in PAX from SS.

Spot on there Marc. The surface in my experience (i run there 5-6 times/ year) does tend to favor r-comp cars a bit, when observing my pace in my BS CR and then hopping in an STR car. I don't think the pace difference we are observing here is all surface, but NJ definitely tends to pax in favor of slicks/DOT-R's.
Wish you came up with BSP car buddy!

Also FWIW, Justin and I are now on 74 run, flipped Hoosier A6's. Gonna run them tomorrow too. 82 runs + super challenge runs! S2000 rcomp tire life FTW.

Then compare to STX, where the current leader is a friend of mine, winning on Hankook RS3s in 50 degree weather, in a *very.* underprepared car, and almost outrawing STR.

Have to clean up the right side tomorrow.
2000 AP1 S2000 on Z1s for those who are interested.
1) Your "underprepped friend" is beating the current STX national prosolo champion, in STX. In a car that I think is an overdog in STX. You make it sound like it's some schmuck on all seasons in a kia...clearly not the case.
2) The 2nd place national prosolo champ in STX (something like .005 back) is in STR here, and isn't even in first place.
3) NJ favors R comp cars hard, for your comparison to R comps.
4) There's nowhere to put power down other than for a couple seconds at the start - it's a miata course.
STR is going pretty fast and is always, everywhere, slower in PAX than STX, STS, and STC given equal drivers. Just because rick ruth thinks our class should be faster doesnt mean anything. Don't try to make it sound like all 21 drivers in STR here suck. Hopefully I have answered your question.
BTW yeah I'm running 2.0's too...apparently I ran a 1.9 in practice starts. But yes apparently it's a 55 ft time or something like that.
