Nick drove his ass off in the challenge and picked up a well deserved win. Noel drove a great event to take the STR win. He's been working hard and I am glad it is paying off! I wasn't on the pace to knock of the top DSP guys in S2, but all of us in S2 (BSP/DSP) were really struggling with the catastrophic bumps on the right side course. Unfortunately, something broke on the drivers side rear on the last run of the event for the Z. Haven't had a chance to really look into it. Hoping it will be patched up for Dover next week.

When people register to race in BSP they should give them a free tow hook upon signing in at registration.

Same group plus a few more people actually. A bunch of really fast additions too....26 people total in STR. It will be completely insane I think.

I'd watch out for Chris Lin in DC.....

...the MX5 low end tq will be in full effect whilst climbing Mt. Fedex.

I will take a look this evening, but I think the rear spring perch either came loose or broke. If it is broken, I won't be able to get a replacement before Dover. It's a bitch to find them.

Thanks Charles!! What's more is I was still #9 in Pax, less than a second off top pax despite driving power courses with only a couple of slaloms to slow down the bigger chassis. I am going to push these tires as far as they can go locally now, but they are being retired from National competition. Haha! I will let you guys know at what run they really drop off. If they are like all of my other hoosiers, they are stable until the grooves go away, but just perform poorer at colder temperatures as they continue to wear and heat cycle. They also fall of a cliff more in grip if you overdrive/overheat them as they age.

They are certainly more predictable, rear traction is just slightly off...

-Marc
They have felt very stable in grip level. To your point, my car definitely gets looser as the tires age and I need to drive/setup around it. In the super challenge, when the tires started taking a huge pounding from heat during back to back runs, the car became insanely loose and I almost lost the car multiple times in the slalom as a result. I went down over 1lb in the back to try and fight it, and it helped.

I'm disappointed I didn't make it into the challenge - apparently 2nd and 2 tenths off the leader in STR wasn't enough! I blame it on super stock and their super close battle.
Thanks for the epic compliment Jon. I try. Driving and setup: practice, analyze, understand, improve, repeat. Oh, and buying a fast car helps

Awesome job by you on Sunday Jon. A typical epic Caserta comeback on Day 2!

Thanks Mike, hell yeah!! My heart had to be over 160BPM at the line. I just focused on breathing and was fiercely determined to simply A)not red light and B) not hit cones. Beyond that, not driving any different than normal runs definitely helps. I pushed as hard as I could on every run on both days, not just because I had some great drivers in CR's there, but because I wanted to practice for the Super Challenge if I made it. You can't afford to just "take it easy" out there on your super challenge runs, but at the same time you can't overdrive and lose the car either. So just find the 97-100% pace, get in a rhythm and do consistent laps. The hardest parts are managing overheating tires, and staying focused at the line.

What a rush to come through the final finish, take the win and see the crowd jump up in the air screaming. I roared in the car like in DC last year. Incredible. The champagne never tasted so good. So happy.

Oh, and I dumped half the bottle on Learic Cramer (She won the ladies challenge.) haha!

Appreciate the support guys. That's 2 guys from S2KI winning Super Challenges this year! Lugod, Barbato, who's next? MPPfannen? Caserta? Leslie? Lane?

Thanks man, appreciate it. Not enough epicness to overtake Noel but it was pretty decent.

haha well we gotta continue the trend right? Make it so next year they start thinking about calling it the "S2ki challenge"? I'll do my best to make it happen in DC.
