Default OBD2 iPhone/Harry's recommendations

I asked this question a while back and the answer I got was the BT1 or PLX3. I never pulled the trigger, but I have developed a misfire and flashing CEL, so I need to pull the codes (most likely misfire codes). I figured I would try to get something that will work with Harry's. Has anyone had any luck with the inexpensive ones working or is the BT or PLX my best option? I would like to spend as little on the tool as possible so I can save my $ for the likely coil replacement.

If I didn't want to use it for Harry's could I just do a cheap one? If so any recommendations for that?

Thanks for the help!

I have a cheap $5 BT dongle that works for android I can't imagine there isn't a ios equivalent out there for the same price. When I tried to do data logging with it tho it was only 1hz. I never could figure out how to increase the odb2 throughput although some said you simply reduce the PIDs that are sent but my software didn't support that on the phone.

Any elm327 wifi will work for both obd2 scanning/clearing and Harry's LapTimer function on an iPhone

Bluetooth didn't work for iPhone but that may have changed

For obd2 functionality I use eobd

Well the performance feature is basically worthless l, it doesn't refresh fast enough to provide anything useful.
