OIl temp Sensor in sandwich plate
That's what came with the gauge, but different thread size than what I have on the sandwich plate. Don't want to be adding adapters on an already crowded and vibrating location. I'm finding out that all these vendors don't like to share their specs and are not very helpful..
If Innovate wont share the specs just check them yourself.
Attach ohm meter to the leads, put the sensor in a water glass full of ice write down value and then do the same in boiling water.
Then you should be able to find a working sensor with correct thread if you study the VDO data sheets http://www.vdo-instruments.com/senso...rs-switch.html

FWIW I had similar issues with the Innovate pressure sender and they would not disclose the specs as they were proprietary and in the end I had to buy a new sensor. I do agree with you that being located that close to the manifold introduces some additional heat to the sensor/sandwich plate combo but my numbers are not that high. (I also have the j's racing header without any of the oem heat shielding)
I built a heat shield around the sandwich plate using aluminum sheets and heat insulation that cut down the heat quite a bit. Depending on your shield you could try to insulate it further and perhaps insulate the sensor itself. (I have mixed feelings about insulating the sensor as it would keep heat out but also effectively hold heat in.)
