Well Cinderella was a person not a car, and Smith was by far the most deserving.
Slicks are worth a TON over street tires, and even a couple seconds over DOT Hoosiers. It doesn't matter how many hundred extra HP a Touring-class car has, it's at a huge disadvantage if it can't put any of it to the ground.
Coffey/Lampey winning U3 on DOT tires was a very impressive feat.

Hey john you plan to do any of your own driving next year?
Unfortunately, the OTC format requires a "shoe" in each car for it to be competitive. Some folks needed two "shoes." I'm probably a few years away from "shoe" status if its attainable for an old fart like me.I'm the typical car owner who has to hire someone to make his car fast. Luckily Bryan works for Red Vines and loafs of Oatbran bread.

Hey guys,
I just wanted to say congratulations to the U3 winning combo of Coffey/Lampey in their 240Z and to the stellar 2nd place finish of Rylan in the S2000. Tough competition from both camps.
I'm bummed I had to leave early as I didn't get to spend too much time with Rylan. I did get to spend a little time with John and Bryan, and a lot of that was defending a cheating bastard technique that almost worked for us at Buttonwillow. (dammit!)
I'm going to try and show up again for 2004, hopefully for the full week again. For now, I've got to get the Tahitian sand out of my ear and finish molting...

Thnx man! You were a lot of fun too when you were there
You've got to bring the WRX next year. I want to race you in that
Tell me about this cheating bastard technique for BW?!
So how was the wedding?
Sorry about the delay in responding, I lost this thread in the pile.

" Rylan's car with a basically stock engine was beating the times of many cars with much more HP, including many of the cars in U1 and U2, plus the $160,000 Mosler Photon and Dearing's Viper in T1 even at Willow Springs! . Aaron"
Damn you guys did beat me at willow. But I have NEVER EVER ran those kinds of times at willow on street tires. If you look at PMUM's times from last year Iwas only off his time by 200th's of a second. Feels good to be running with that kind of company!!!
U3 I think was the best battle to watch overall. I have never seen 3 teams work so hard for 1000's of seconds in my life!!!

Yeah I didn't think we'd beat you at wsir, even with you on street tires and us on slicks. Then again, I never thought I'd see sub 1:30's in my car.
So when are you coming out to speedventures again? We missed ya at sears.
