I'll be there Sunday. My car's the one that lights up Hoosiers at 1,500 RPM (can you say rocks?). CoralDoc and Penrod will trounce me, but I don't have any incentive to drive the same distance East and run on a dusty asphalt runway. Hopefully the warmer weather, in combination with concrete, will keep me from eating 10 cones like last weekend.

I went to two different shops today and not one guy in either place can tell me crap. I guess I'll just live with it until I find someone who knows what they're doing. I'm within the factory range of +0.32*to +0.64*total for the rear, and I'm at +0.56, so that's not really a worry. The front toe range is -0.16*to +0.16* and I'm at -0.28.... The two Honda stores I called said they only make alignment adjustments within the factory parameters and the shop that did it wants to charge me $39 (on top of the initial $79) to re-check it.

What I really need is someone who knows that they have 1/8" toe (in/out - front/back, whatever) to look at their print out and tell me what that translates into, degree wise.

The degree will depend on where you measure to. Assuming it's the edge of the rim, just do the trig based on 8" on the hypotenuse. I'm busy now, or I'd do it.

I need a little help with my alignment. I am just starting to Autocross this car. I will add a Saner front swaybar and Hoosier tires 225 F, 245 R.
Here are the specs. What should I change?

Front L R Final
Caster 7.2 7.3
Camber -1.6 -1.4
Toe -.10 -.05 -.15

Rear
Camber -2.0 -1.8
Toe .70 .75 1.45

What will this alignment do and what should I change?

Thanks
Ken

Whoah... what are the units for toe? Am I reading 1.5" of toe out in the rear?

If so, that alignment will get you a close look at a tree or light pole or curb or course worker...

All of the values in Ken's .gif image are in degrees - click on the image and select a larger size to see the detail more clearly. The toe values still look like a lot, though.

The graphic wasn't up there when I first read it

The toe numbers seem backwards too me. Is toe in represented with a positive value and toe out with a negative value?

I think. Not sure. It was done by Tire Kingdom. Anyone have a clue? I sure don't.
Thanks

A full-on autocross alignment looks something like:
Front:
0-1/8" toe out
-1.75* camber (or more if you can get it)
Maximum caster w/o losing camber

Rear:
1/8-1/2" toe in (this one is very much up to personal preference. MrSideways runs 0, Joe Goeke likes 1/2")
-2.25* to -2.5* camber

A compromise would be 0 toe front, around -1* camber front, -1.25* camber rear, 1/4" toe in. That should make for reasonably comfortable street driving and still allow you to have a little more fun autocrossing.

The specifications have positive numbers for rear toe. Since I know Honda does not specify toe out in the rear, my assumption must be correct. Negative indicates toe out. Weird...
