Question about suspenion for BSP, autoX
Hi there people
yup itz me again,
i was wondering which suspenion set up would be better for BSP classing for autoX.
penske 8100 double adjustable shocks or the TEINS SRC. those 2 come to around the same priuce, last time i checked.
i would be getting the penske shocks right away if i was in ... AS but my clutch puts me in BSP so just wondering which
or what other suspension setup would anyone out there recommend for BSP for around.. those price?
i mainly autoX, and sometimes track
thank you a head of time

I would think a full coilover system would be better for BSP than just shocks (unless you plan on putting new springs on the shocks).
How much are you looking at spending? I've heard good things about the KW V3's but not sure if that would be in the same price range.

BSP will be very hard for our s2000
Locally I think any car can be competitive. Nationally, while it may be tough, I do think the S2000 is competitive in BSP (just takes a hell of a driver). Last year at nationals, a pair of AP2 S2K's finished 6th and 7th.
That said, our car is much more competitive in AS and if you don't need the aftermarket clutch for other reasons and want a nationally competitive car without spending a fortune, I would move back to AS.

The face of AS may change because of the Solstice GXP and Sky redline, so its your call. But, the modded STI's, evos, vets, 350z's, etc. should be tough in BSP also. I am hoping the S2K would be able to compete in a ST class.

It would be nice if they added STX2 and STU2 so we'd have a place to compete there. But that's not going to happen for many years.
From what I've seen locally (with drivers who have competed in nationals before) and also from the National Tour events so far, I'm not fully convinced the GXP is going to be that dominant. In the National Tour events, one has yet to finish in the top 3 in AS. It could just be that people are learning to drive the car, but I seriously wouldn't worry about them at this point. We'll see how they start doing by the end of the year. . .
I'd be much more worried about the AWD cars in BSP than the GXP in AS.

In the FWIW category, I posed the AS question to our local Solo list and had a response from Michael Occhipinti:
Nick Flynn/Manfred Woodall (Pittsburgh area)
Alex Jones (Detroit)
Eric Stemler (Chicago area)
Charles Frank (NC area)
I know the first two on that list are going to be prepping to the extent of the stock class rules. I believe the exhaust is already on there, the lightweight wheels are ordered, and the shocks are coming soon.
