Race seats
Anyone have any luck mating a Taitec/J's Racing seat rail with a Recaro PP? I've read across multiple threads and SPG/RSG are commonly used without any issue. As many of you know, PP's are a bit wider and require different side mount brackets than what Taitec offers. Has anyone mated a PCI side mount + Taitec + PP? I would appreciate any photos or details of your previous experience.
Gauging some options here :
Taitec Rail + PCI Side Mount + PP
Taitec Rail + Recaro Factory Side Mount (PP Specific) + PP
Recaro Japan Rail + ? + PP (Possible?)

Driver = HTE-R 400 (just like HTE-R but with narrower external halo width - so there wouldn't be any soft frame or window interference)
Passenger = ARS-R
Mounted on Buddy club rails. Seats feel like they are at OEM height.
I have a decent write up if you want to PM me your email address.
My dims = 6' tall 38" waist 32" inseam

...in short, the ARS-R would probably a little shaving on the wing to let the door close without putting pressure on the seat (1/2" maybe). You'd have to pick rails that enable the seat to get low enough for the inner part of the seat to clear the trans tunnel ridge - amount of recline also comes into play here. I use buddy club rails (welds reinforced at my work) so that allows the seats to sit "between" the rails and get as low as possible.
Edit: jealous of you having a local dealer.... Could they provide any input or work out a return policy if the seat doesnt fit? The only caveat is the seats will get scratches going in and out of the car/brackets/etc.
I PM'd you....

So I did some digging and I was looking at dimensions online and like you said the ARS-R's are 20mm narrower at the base which means a good 1/3rd or so of an inch on each side which makes a difference. That doesn't account for the bolsters being different though which might be the issue. I know the tranny tunnel curves inwards towards the driver as it comes up which makes the shape important. It's been a while since I've sat in the Champ-R. I'll just have to test fit it and maybe just cut it where the tranny tunnel is a little to make it fit.. I just called up OG Racing and of course they don't stock the ARS-R, so I can't test fit my butt in it.
You said the ARS-R's side bolsters are smaller? I do still want to drive the car on the street so smaller bolsters might be better.

I ordered these, the European Evo 2, which fit up to 36 waste or something like that. If your a 34 and under u can get away with the regular Evo and get them even cheaper.
