Race seats

I have started doing video documentation of most of the s2000 mods I am doing so will upload a video once I'm done, with my feedback. Right now I have Recaro Pole Positions with buddy club seat rails/sliders so i will do a comparison in my video of them vs the new Sparco Circuit 2 LFs with PCI (non slider) mounts. The Recaro PPs withBuddy club rails get the seat very low--as in touching the floor. I HOPE these new PCI rails do the same or very close as my understanding is the Circuit 2 LF won't fit in the s2000 well with buddy club rails(I'm not 100% sure on that--so don't quote me). I also have always had some concerns about the strength of the buddy club rails in a crash, but have no data to support this. They just don't seem super substantial.

There was a thread and some posts about the EVO 2 here on s2ki not long ago, you might just have to poke around. Cliff notes, with the BC rails you have to cut the side bolsters a little to clear the tranny tunnel and door side I believe. You may have to do it with any mount though, as the seat is definitely a little wider than the Recaro PP. Regarding fitment, it's a more snug fitment than the Recaro PP around your waist/hips. I initially bought an EVO 2 and opted to get a PP since it bolts in and fits me better (and it's more comfortable on the street). Ultimately it comes down to personal preference.

I only installed the passenger side so far since I'm going to get a roll bar and will need to gut the interior.
I used buddyclub rails. Install was a pain, what I found to be the easiest method was to figure out how you'll mount the seat in the rail then mount the inside side of the rail to the seat and install it in the car. Since the seat is so wide you wont be able to reach the seat/mount bolts on the inside to tighten them once the seat is in, especially the front one. Next align the seat rail with the holes in floor of car and insert bolts but don't tighten. Then just put in the outside seat rail, mount the seat and and align the outside rail to floor and tighten it all up. There is minimal contact with the tranny tunnel on the inside front bolster and the shoulder does touch the door when closed. Didn't have to do any trimming though.
Also, since the front of the seat is wider than the rear, I found it a better fit to flip the mount brackets on the rear of the rail to accommodate the size difference and get a better fit.
I'm 5'10, about 180lbs, athletic build and the seat is alright. A little wiggle room around the waist/hips, legs are comfortable and shoulders aren't cramped and the holes for shoulder harness are barely high enough to work, don't know how the other seats with lower holes work...
If need any more info, just ask.

Well, for reference, the Mazda 626 rear belt receptacle does not work with the AP1.

What's the point? You'll never be able to use a different seat, or adjust the seat very much. And if you ever sell the car, that will be a nightmare for the person who buys it if they are bigger/taller/shorter/smaller/etc. than you.
