I am 5'10" and run a STATUS racing Ring GT seat. Waist is around 31-32".

Fits me fairly snug. Fits me perfect.

1. Bride Zeta FRP
2. 29" waist
3. 5'10"
4. Slim sexy build, likes long wa........ you get the point.

Love the seat, very good structure (no flex), fairly light for an FIA appr. seat.

I've got a 36 in waist and probably a 38 inch mid section, ahem, and I just barely fit in my Recaro SPG-PROFI.

The real measurement that matters is your hips, not the waist, fwiw.

seems there's lots of people here with recaro spg, what did you guys do to keep the seat from hitting the door? or does it just hit and it's not a big deal?

see this is where it gets tricky... i'm not positive of this but it looks like from all the pictures and dates that the spg-n changed to what's now called the pole position possibly some time around 06. this seat is known to fit in the s2k, its shoulder bolsters are 560mm wide. i'm basing this assessment off of the asm spgn naming scheme, its shell measurements and the pole position's shell measurements leading me to believe they're the same shell with asm retaining the previous generation's naming scheme.

the profi aka spg aka profi spa aka spgt2 and various other names including the helmet caged seats are all the same form factor (besides the XL versions) with the main differences being knee bolster height and helmet cage presence. these seats have shoulder bolsters that are 580mm wide, according to the recaro site.

there have been some reports of these spg/profi/et al seats having door interference problems. some have suggested that no matter what they do they can't get it to not hit the door, others have said it'll be fine if you adjust brackets to mount the seat very close to the tranny tunnel. i'm just trying to figure out what people did on average to get a better idea of if this is a worthwhile seat. if there's just a small dent in the door, that doesn't bother me.

some people made it sound desperate...
