seems there's lots of people here with recaro spg, what did you guys do to keep the seat from hitting the door? or does it just hit and it's not a big deal?
The SPG shouldn't hit the door, but the SPG Profi does. Eventually, the fabric will wear away from rubbing, plus it sounds annoying. I had a Taitec rail that allowed the seat to be moved closer to the transmission tunnel. This eliminated most of the rubbing. Your options are pretty much:

-Utilize a rail with side adjustment
-Shave down the outer wing
-cut the door panel

The further back you move the seat, the less it seems to rub.

has anyone tried to heat the door panel and push it in instead of cutting it. cutting is so extreme and if you could heat form a pleasant shape, it might not even look amiss...

Steven's seat is locked in a position too close to the steering wheel for any normal sized individual

I run a Recaro Pole Position but really want to try and fit a SPG XL seat. now that my rollbar is in and some of the rear trim is gutted...mostly the piece that covers the soft to motors I think it would actually fit. I sit far enough back that my seat wings are past the end of the door so I don't have to worry about rubbing on the door. I also don't have the center glove box so no worries about blocking that off either. It's only 20mm wider at the shoulders so I figure 10mm each side. I think that plastic piece being gone just might leave enough room for it to fit....hmmmmm

How wide are the wings on SPG? I'm kinda a big fellow so I'm looking at the Sparco Evo3. The base is 20.5 wide and the wings are 25.6 wide. Just wondering if I'll run into the door and or if I'll be able to open the center console.

That's exactly what I did. The door panel eventually formed a nice indent to where it still rubs but it's not that bad at all. Don't cut it unless you absolutely have too!
