RE070 vs AD08 vs RE11
Hi guys, currently on AD08's and love the tyres to bits. Have been wondering though if there are any tyres that can possibly beat the AD08 in the street tyre class and the only ones in my mind would be possibly RE11 (tread width is narrower than AD08) and RE070 (tread width is even narrower than RE11). I have used RE070 on my previous car and its fantastic but I have no real basis of comparing the 3 tyres though I know that 070 is extremely sticky.
Just wondering if there is anyone competing in street class time attack who has experience comparing the 3. The time attack rules for me would be an allowance of a one lap warm up before the hot lap so warm up time to max grip is also important.

AD08.
RE070s feel GREAT, but unfortunately, the compound isn't quite up to snuff compared to the current stuff. It's nearly a decade old
Rumor has it that sticker RS3s are stickier, before they drop off

Not personal experience, but spoke with another that has driven on both the AD08s and RE11s. He said the AD08s are faster. The sacrifice is ride comfort; so the RE-11s make a better street tire. But for pure track use, the AD08s are a faster tire. The other tire to check is the Hankook RS3 as they might be faster than the AD08s.

No track experience, but with autox I found the RS3's to be faster than the AD08's... more overall grip and LOVE heat. Myself and a friend came to this conclusion when we tested our wheel/tire setups back to back with mine being RS3 and his being AD08.

Not sure if this helps but the AD08's are far superior in the wet as well.
I think the only better tire on an S2000 than the AD08 in the wet is the continental that grassroots tested a few months back. But it doesn't have the dry grip of the AD08s.
R1R's aren't the best on the S2000 since they are so sensitive to heat and with the weight of the S2000 they grease up very easily.
I have been looking for a tire to drive to events on as well as rain tires and keep landing on the AD08s as well. They are pricey but they will work in the dry and the wet and they grip even when they are corded. One of the faster STX BMW's is in our region and he has run many, many events on the AD08's and keeps trying to get me to bite as he thinks they are going to be the best option for me.
