Default Rear Bumper tab for STR

Hi there,

I'm wonder if there is a STR legal way to get the rear bumper tab out of the way. Can we just bend it out of the way like the fender lip? Its pretty annoying how we can roll the lip flat but have a rear bumper tab sticking right out.

thanks!

The majority of the STR crew run 17x9 with 61-63 offset and 255s without any rubbing at all. Those that choose the +48 option are the only people that ever report issues with fitment in the rear.

At the 2010 national championships, one of the top cars in Super Stock (maybe even the leader -- I don't remember) was protested for having rolled fender lips. The protested party claimed that the fenders had self-clearanced, but was still found non-compliant and penalized.

"It happened on its own" doesn't absolve you of responsibility for non-compliance.

Correct me if I am wrong, but you can roll in STR, just not remove, right?

You can roll as long as you don't move the lip (fender) away from the tire.

Another way to put it is, the metal behind the fender is free as long as the outside fender shape and width remain the same.
