Just got off the phone with Ron... things are going pretty well out there for the Stooks! Joe Goeke who just bought Gary Thomason's car is leading, and apparently only .3 behind the Super-Stock leader! He's got a 76.7 (long courses.) 2nd place is Andy McKee in a Boxster, and third is Ron Bauer in Yellow Marcus. Annie is in 8th, which is a darn nice run out of 20 cars! There are 6 trophy spots, so Annie could move up a little. Also, Jason Keeney is sitting in 4th place, so there are 3 Stooks in the top 4!

Nice job guys! Keep it up. Good luck tomorrow! Ron and Jason could get around the Boxster and make it 1-2-3 for the Stook brigade.

BTW, 2nd place Boxster has a 77.4 and Ron has a 77.8... These sound like some super-long courses! Must take a while to walk.

I had a feeling that Joe would be pretty competitive in a S2000 based on the way he drove my car in practice.

Haven't heard anything yet... would lead me to believe that there might not have been a change. We'll see when the results get updated tonight. Here are the Saturday results. Hopefully Ron got around the other Boxster and Annie got up into the trophies!

Are any of these races televised? It would be great to watch them.
Or better yet,,, will any of the races be on the west coast in the future?

Unfortunately, these events are not televised, for many reasons. (not the least of which being the cost of a TV production!) I feel that very exciting 1 hour recap shows would be very interesting, escpecially when edited and presented in the right way... But, with so many cars and drivers competing, you wouldn't be seeing Stooks for much of the program. There are over 250 cars there! For a peek at what's going on, here is a link to a couple videos from the Saturday course taken in an MR2... Pretty amazing courses. I'm beginning to wish I towed the 4-bagillion hour drive out there:

As for there being other events you can go to, there is a ProSolo in two weeks in California... It's in Irvinel, CA - wherever that might be. All the same drivers that were running this weekend will be there... Click here for schedule information: http://www.scca.org/amateur/solo2/prosolo/...vine/index.html

Here is the full ProSolo schedule: http://www.scca.org/amateur/solo2/prosolo/...2001/index.html

And the National Tour schedule: http://www.scca.org/amateur/solo2/nat_tour...2001/index.html

I'd say if you're anywhere close to one of these events come check it out. We'll be at the two events in April in Texas... those are our next events.

As for the final SD results? You're guess is as good as mine. No updates from any competitors, nothing on the autocross lists, and the SCCA hasn't updated the results yet. I guess everyone is on the road on the way back. I hope it went well, and that everyone has a safe trip home.

well.. I just got back from San Diego... I dont have all the exact times, but the AS trophy positions went like this:

1 - Joe Goeke (S2000), by a very large margin.
2 - Andy McKee (Boxster)
3 - Ron Bauer (S2000), about a tenth or so behind Andy
4 - Marc McCombs (M3), really brilliant driving on Sunday... I thought I'd never see an M3 in a trophy position at a national level event ever again
5 - me, Jason Keeney (S2000), .047 behind Marc and driving like a complete boob the entire weekend. dont ask. first time in my life I've ever finished a run and been mad enough at myself to want to punch the dashboard.
6 - Teresa Neidel (Boxster), also seemed to be having a tough weekend.

on a positive note... I had the best looking car at the tour.
