Talking Ride Height

Put on the KW Variant 3s a couple days ago. Used the minimum allowable height numbers given by KW. The front remaining thread is 2 inches while the rears are 1.6 inches. After install, the front wheels are low but not low enough to hit the inside of the fender well on a bump. The rears are higher... probably three times the fender clearance as the front.
The question is; what heights from the hub center to the top of the fender are you guys running with. Am looking for street driveability and max performance on weekend track fun.

BTW... am very impressed with the handling right now. Very little roll and virtually NO dive. Have not attempted any adjustments of the dampering yet. Want to get the ride height right first after the suspension settles a bit, then go off for an alignment.

Thanks,
CB

You farggin' eyesole! NEVER! I'm surprised you found out this early because I was sure you couldn't read!
Am definitely going to be taking in advice on height and damper settings.

Using KW's "A" measurement, I believe I have 35 to 38mm of preload in the rear (yes, this is below the suggested minimum by 2 - 5mm). For the front, I believe I set them to around 62mm of preload. However, the front was slightly raised when the car was corner balanced so I no longer know how much preload I'm running up front.

I have the OEM lip on my AP2 and I would not want the car to be any lower. Many would probably find these settings too low for the street.

your not driving fast enough then

I just had to change my rears out and I do remember I counted 25 threads under the screw.

Im not that low now, I used to be much lower.

Just had a full track day. Set the ride height to the minimums suggested by KW. Did not adjust any dampering. Have to say it was spiritual! Absolutely excellent tracking at highter speeds.
Also set camber in rears to 2.5 and fronts to 1.5 - as well as 7 degrees of caster in the front. Car did not plow, did not slide, and did not float.
Supurb late braking - using Hawk HT-10s up front and Cobalt Spec Cs in rear. Absolutely fantabulous day today!
BTW... had the car corner weighted to find that our eyeball estimates were damned-near right on. Damned near perfect cross-corner balance.
Perfect.

Hmmm.... how much rear toe-in did you use...?
I'm ordering my set of KW3 's in the near future and I would like to know, if I should try a different setting. I am currently in about the same camber and caster figures with you.

Here's the real numbers from the alignment:
Front: -1.2 Camber both
7.2 Caster both
0 Toe both

Rear: -2.4 Camber both
.2 toe both (.4 total thrust angle)

When I get a chance, I'll measure the height from the hubs to the fender bottoms. They should be very close to KW mins.
